HANOI, VIETNAM, April 18, 2018, Wednesday – HVACR Vietnam, the trusted exhibition for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Air Filtration & Purification, and Refrigeration technology and systems, is all set for its first exhibition in Hanoi.
This is the first year that HVACR Vietnam- the only focused and most established international industrial exhibition in the country – is held in Hanoi, after 11 previous editions in Ho Chi Minh City. To cater to the local market demand, the organisers will rotate the exhibition between the two cities, with Hanoi hosting it on even years, and Ho Chi Minh City hosting it on odd years.
Over 2,000 visitors have pre-registered to visit the show at the National Exhibition Construction Center (NECC), with 250 pre-qualified buyers ready to meet the exhibitors, and more than 500 meetings lined up. For the first edition in Hanoi, more than 200 brands and companies will be represented at the exhibition.
The success of HVACR Vietnam 2018 is due to the support of many partners and organisations , and the organisers would like to thank the following for their assistance: Asia Air Movement and Control Association Pte Ltd; International Institute of Refrigeration; Ministry of Industry and Trade Vietnam; Singapore Green Building Council; Vietnam Association for Building Materials; Vietnam Association of Construction Contractor; Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Vietnam Energy Efficiency Network; Vietnam Green Building Council and the Vietnam Society of Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
Strong Support From Returning Exhibitors
HVACR Vietnam has been the ideal platform for international manufacturers and suppliers to launch new products, reach out to buyers, appoint agents and distributors, build brand awareness, and establish business networks in Vietnam’s booming economy.
Thus, many exhibitors are back in the inaugural exhibition in Hanoi this year, including Ayva, Bitwise, Bry Air, Camfil, Climaveneta, Ginice, Honeywell, Khai Phat, KingAir and many more.
One of them, the HVACR equipment brand KingAir, is represented by Vietnam KingAir Conditioning Equipment Co., Ltd, the exclusive authorised Vietnam distributor.
The company representative Mr Lee Zheng Guang said: “We have been a returning exhibitor at HVACR for many years now, including last year, and each time, we were able to showcase our products to an extensive group of industry buyers, and secure good sales leads. There are a lot of fresh elements in this year’s edition, including a new host city, and we are all geared up for it.”
Company’s Goals In Line With Exhibition
Another returning exhibitor is Honeywell. Ms Mai Trang Thanh, President of Honeywell Indochina, added: “Honeywell has been exhibiting at HVACR for several years. This year, we are especially encouraged by the opportunity to showcase our Connected products and solutions that help homeowners stay in control of their comfort, security, and energy use, as well as building owners ensure their facilities are safe, energy efficient, sustainable, and productive.
“Honeywell’s goals are in line with the green building and energy efficiency aspects of this year’s exhibition, and we greatly look forward to connecting with the broader audience who will be attending the show.”

Italian brand Climaveneta, now the largest air-conditioning manufacturer in Italy, will also be exerting a strong presence in this year’s edition through its Shanghai factory, Climaveneta Chat Union Refrigeration Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
A company representative said: “We first exhibited at the HVACR Vietnam exhibition in 2014 and then again in 2016. Over the last year, we saw many huge opportunities available in Vietnam. In fact, we have already confirmed pre-scheduled meeting appointments with some of the local buyers via the HVACR Online Meeting System. We are delighted to exhibit here again, and look forward to remaining a firm foothold in the country.”
Going Green & Energy Efficient
In line with the shifting industry trends towards energy efficiency and sustainable products and measures, HVACR Vietnam 2018 has introduced green building and energy efficiency elements into the exhibition, featuring collaborations with industry experts, and professional seminars on green HVACR technologies and systems.
Throughout the three-day exhibition, a series of complimentary HVACR and Green Building seminars and technical talks will be held, hosted by HVACR Vietnam organisers as well as its partner the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC). Seats are limited, and participants will be seated on a first-come-first-served basis after on-site registration.
The seminars will cover some topics like:
1. Assessments of Alternative Cooling Technologies, by Professor Steven Brown, International Institute of Refrigeration
2. Energy-efficient Solution to Buildings with All-year Round Cooling Demand, by Dr Li Xianting, International Institute of Refrigeration
3. How Intelligent Control Valve (Energy Valve) Can Help in Saving Energy, by Mr Alvin Chan, BELIMO Automation AG, Switzerland
Green Building Seminars:
1. Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) for Green Buildings, by Mr Umang Sharma, Director & CEO of Bry-Air Malaysia

Steven Brown, an expert from the United States and a highly lauded expert in the field who has received many awards, said: “It is my pleasure to speak at HVACR Vietnam, and I hope this will be a crucial turning point for Vietnam and the industry worldwide to consider choosing alternate technologies when appropriate as a part of the overall strategy to slow the process of global climate change.”
Chinese expert Dr Li Xianting, the President of E1 Commission in IIR and a full professor and director of the Institute of Built Environment in the Department of Building Science, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, added: “It is very encouraging that the Vietnam government has shown support for green building in the country; now with HVACR Vietnam’s commitment to share related knowledge with the industry decision-makers, the time for change has come.”
Special Showcase Of Sustainable Green Building
HVACR Vietnam 2018 is also proud to introduce a special showcase on building and sustainability, presented by the Viet Land Investment Consulting and Construction Joint-Stock Company (Vilandco). One of the leading specialist consulting firms in Vietnam, they ensure harmony between human and the natural environment in the projects they undertake.
In the special showcase, Vilandco will present some of the work processes and outcomes of the many recent and successful launch projects showcasing sustainable green building and energy efficiency.
Demand To Soar In Near Future
Global revenue for energy efficient commercial HVAC systems is expected to increase from $22.8 billion in 2015 to $47.5 billion in 2024, according to Navigant Research.
Additionally, the Southeast Asian HVACR market is forecast to reach $13.63 billion by 2023, in a separate report by BIS Research, growing at a CAGR of 9.30% during the forecast period of 2017-2023.
Vietnam alone, which is shifting from a rural-agrarian society to an urban-industrial and services-based economy, is seeing a significant increase in urbanisation, which is expected to increase to 45 per cent by 2020.
As a result, the country’s cold chain industry is also set to expand in the next few years, as demand for chilled and frozen food, and refrigerated transport, surges across the country, reported The Cool Star and Vietnam Investment Review in 2017. The demand comes from consumers as well as from a growing number of restaurants, shopping malls, supermarkets, mini-marts, and convenience stores.
The country is also now a priority market for many air conditioner manufacturers, the Vietnam Investment Review reported in June 2017.
